Police launch appeal after Grimsby dog attack
Humberside Police have launched an appeal for two witnesses after a woman was attacked by a dog on Wednesday 21 April.
At 9:20am, a woman was reported to have been bitten by a dog on River Freshney Bridge between Ripon Street and Waterside Drive alleyway in Grimsby.
It was reported that the woman was walking when she approached by the dog and bitten.
The victim is said to have sustained a serious injury to her ankle. She required medical treatment as a result.
The dog, which is described as brown, white and red Staffordshire Bull Terrier, appeared to be alone, and was not accompanied by its owner.
In a statement issued this morning, a spokesperson for Humberside Police said:
”We are appealing to help identify a woman in a white van who stopped to help the victim and to identify an unknown man who may have also witnessed the incident.
“We are also asking for the owner of the dog to come forward to assist with our enquiries.”
