Grimsby Farmer’s and Craft Market is back next Friday – here’s everything you can enjoy

The Grimsby Farmer’s and Craft Market is back in Grimsby Town Centre next Friday – but what will it have on offer?

The outdoor market on Victoria Street supplies a range of high-quality local produce and treats, from free range meat, pies and a selection of cheeses to classic frankfurter hot dogs and cakes.

Each of the market traders are from the local area and are responsible for producing everything they sell, whether it be making, growing or rearing it.

Taking place on Friday 21 May, the popular market returns to Grimsby on the third Friday of every month from 9am to 3pm.

The market stayed open throughout lockdown, but with a reduced number of stalls. Now, all stallholders will return.

The following businesses will be attending Grimsby Farmer’s and Craft Market next Friday:

  • Redhill Farm – free range pork
  • FW Read & Sons – cheese and dairy selection
  • Pie-o-neers – selection of freshly made pies
  • Fresh and Delicious – classic frankfurter hot dogs
  • Sweet Treats Catering – hot drinks, donuts and candy floss
  • Deadly Bakes – home-made sweet treats bakery
  • East End Nurseries Ltd – strawberries (seasonal)

Local businesses are also being encouraged to set up shop on the market.

A statement from North East Lincolnshire Council reads: “There is also an offer available to local businesses, new to the market, who are looking to expand or who have recently set up or started their own business and want to give it a try and promote themselves as we follow the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown.”

Councillor Stan Shreeve, portfolio holder for finance, resources and assets, said: “If you’re a business owner, then Grimsby Farmer’s and Craft Market could be the place for you to give your trade a boost.

“We understand the effects the pandemic has had on local businesses and that is why we’re offering a fantastic deal to new outdoor traders, for those who cannot commit to a long-term contract.”

New traders will be offered a ‘buy one get one free’ offer for the first eight months trading, providing an ideal opportunity to trial or grow their business. Traders will pay for a month, then get the next month free, for a period of eight months.
