Plans have been submitted to North East Lincolnshire Council to build a 66-bedroom nursing home and 58 apartments as part of a retirement complex in Grimsby next to Toll Bar roundabout.

Multi-million pound firm Kings Road Investments Ltd are responsible for submitting the plans, in which the complex will stand alongside 239 new homes off Station Road in New Waltham.

The development will provide care facilities for independent living and 24-hour care.

It will overlook Toll Bar Roundabout and will have access from Station Road, opposite Tollbar Academy.

The firm said: “As the population ages, the need grow for a choice of accommodation and the need for a high standard of accommodation providing nursing care.

“This proposed development will help to meet these needs locally. This particular nursing care home incorporates innovation in end of life care and dementia.

“The proposed operator is a leading provider in pioneering dementia care facilities with CQC outstanding ratings.”

Kings Road Investment Ltd say the new nursing home and retirement complex in Grimsby will complement the 239-home family housing site by Barratt Homes, which has been named Wigmore Park.
