Woman with axe arrested on Doncaster estate
A woman has been arrested after she was stopped on a Doncaster estate and found to be in possession of drugs and an axe.
Officers stopped a red Vauxhall Astra on Radburn Road, Rossington, on May 7, as a result of prior intel which suggested it was involved with drug supply and weapons.
“On initial contact, a small hand axe was found in the driver’s side door along with a wheel brace,” added a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson.
“Both the car and occupants were searched.
“Cannabis and a bag of white powder were found inside the car, along with an unknown quantity of cash.
“The female driver tested positive for drugs on the roadside drug swipe.”
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, possession of offensive weapon, and driving under the influence of drugs.
She has been released on police bail while the investigation continues.
The passenger was released without charge.
