Shots fired in Barnby Dun Road

Police have cordoned off Barnby Dun Road in Wheatley, Doncaster, following reports of a shooting.

Shortly before 11am today, 20 May, it is reported that three men exited a vehicle and fired shots towards a property in Barnby Dun Road.

The men are said to have left the scene immediately afterwards.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police added:

“Armed response were deployed immediately and found evidence of a firearms discharge at the scene. 

“Officers have recovered two vehicles in nearby in connection with the inquiry. 

“There will be an increased number of officers in the area today as initial forensic and door-to-door enquiries are carried out. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to an officer.”

Nobody is thought to have been injured – officers and detectives remain on the scene.

Police are now searching for three gunmen.
