Emergency services deal with major incident on Doncaster road

The police, fire and ambulance services spent much of last night dealing with a major incident on a busy Doncaster road.

They were called to Broomhouse Lane in Balby following reports of a road traffic incident.

The road was sealed off at around 10pm.

South Yorkshire Police and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have both been approached for a comment.

UPDATE:

South Yorkshire Police have now confirmed that they were called to Balby following reports of a road traffic collision on Galsworthy Close, Doncaster, at 9.11pm yesterday.

It is reported that a car hit a lamp post and several parked cars.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 983 of 22 May.
