Tragedy as man dies in field near Peaks Parkway

Humberside Police have now confirmed the tragic death of a man in a field near Peaks Parkway in Grimsby yesterday evening.

Officers were called to the scene at around 7pm yesterday evening, following reports that a body had been found close to the allotments and crematorium.

Humberside Fire and Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance Service were also in attendance.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for the force said:

“We were called to reports of concerns for safety of a person near to Weelsby Avenue, Grimsby yesterday (Thursday 27 May) just before 7pm.

“On arrival a man was found to have sadly died.

“The circumstances surrounding his death are not being treated as suspicious and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.”
