Tributes have been paid to Doncaster midwife Kaye Bulliman, who recently passed away following a long illness.

Kaye worked at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust from September 1994 until she took early retirement due to ill health in June 2020.

She was instrumental in the completion of the Butterfly Garden, which is used by staff and visitors alike and provides a place of comfort to those experiencing a bereavement.

Colleagues have described Kaye as having a heart of gold.

A spokesperson for the trust said:

“We are truly saddened to share the news that our former colleague, Kaye Bulliman, has sadly passed away

“We will always remember Kaye’s warm, caring and compassionate nature and she always put others first. She will be so dearly missed.

“To Kaye’s family, loved ones, friends and colleagues, as a team, we share our deepest condolences and sympathies at this time.”

Responding to the sad news, one local said:

“Kaye was a wonderful lady, fly high Kaye you will be missed by so many people, sending love to all your family.”

“Kaye delivered my first baby in 2011. I only knew her for 12 hours but will always remember her and be grateful she got me through it,”  added another.

Her family have asked friends to line up on Thorne Road, near to gate 1A, at around 12pm on 9 June to clap Kaye on her final Journey.
