Local businesses to be given opportunity to get involved in upcoming Festival of the Sea
Local businesses in North East Lincolnshire will be given the opportunity to get involved with the upcoming Festival of the Sea, set to be held in Grimsby town centre on Saturday 17 July.
The Culture House is hosting two online sessions for businesses, in which the Festival Directors will “give a low-down on the festival’s vision” and inform business owners how they can be involved in the event.
The all-new festival will celebrate Grimsby’s connections to the sea and will include arts and cultural performances in the newly-unveiled St. James’ Square.
A statement on the EventBrite page for the online sessions reads: “This is your chance to meet Festival Directors Charlotte Bowen of Grimsby-based arts organisation The Culture House and Liz Pugh of leading UK outdoor arts organisation Walk the Plank, as they give a low-down on the festival’s vision and what kind of activity will be taking place this year.
“Celebrating the town’s future, present and past, Festival of the Sea will host quality arts and cultural performances on July 17 – including street arts and live music in the soon-to-be unveiled St James’ Square, plus digital activity highlighting the town’s heritage.
“We invite you to set sail with us on our journey as we develop this exciting new event, which will champion the town, while bringing colour and vibrancy to the town centre.
“Delivered with Covid-restrictions in mind, 2021 will see a safe, suitably-scaled launch that will build over forthcoming years and that we’d love you to get behind.”
The first online business briefing will take place tonight, Monday 7 June, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
The second will be held on Thursday 10 June at 9.00am.
