Mystery blood smears appear across Brough
Police are investigating after blood smears appeared at a number of locations across Brough, just 12 miles from Hull.
The marks were first seen on lampposts in Elloughton Road yesterday.
They was subsequently found on several bins, walls and other surfaces across town.
Investigating officers have since been seen speaking to a man sat at a bus stop in the area.
He appeared to have been injured, but it is unclear whether the incidents are related.
Now, a public appeal has been issued. It reads:
“Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding blood found on several lampposts on Elloughton Road, Brough yesterday evening, Sunday 13 June, are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“It is thought that an unknown individual may have sustained an injury on Elloughton Road before walking in the direction of Main Street.
“At this stage, there are not thought to have been any crimes committed, however we are concerned for the welfare of this individual, who may require medical attention.”
Anyone who witnessed anything, or anyone who may have information about the incident is urged to contact Humberside Police by calling the non-emergency number 101 quoting log 284 of 13 June.
