Two vehicle RTC on the M181

Yesterday a two vehicle RTC occurred on the M181 on the southbound carriageway.

A heavy goods vehicle collided with a car just after 8am.

The HGV driver self released prior to arrival of Fire Service.

One adult female was trapped in car.

Fire services arrived on scene. Hydraulic cutting equipment, reciprocating saw, stabilisation equipment and trauma bag was used to rescue female from vehicle.

The female was removed using spine board and taken to hospital.

The incident was then left in the hands of the police.

Humberside Fire and Rescue spokesperson said ‘we received a call to attend the incident yesterday morning at 8:10(am) and our Scunthorpe and Winterton crews were in attendance.

‘This was a road traffic collision involving a HGV and a car. The driver of the car was trapped and our crews used cutting and stabilization equipment to release them and they were then taken to hospital.

‘Our first crew was in attendance at 8:19 and the last crew to leave the scene left at 9:35. After that, the incident was then left with the Police.’
