Have your say on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SENDIASS)
North East Lincolnshire Council is inviting people to share their views and experiences on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Service is a free and confidential service that offers information, advice and support for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities..
Provided by Barnardo’s, the service is also offered directly to young people and is strictly confidential.
With the contract with Bernardo’s coming to a close, parents and carers who have or may have accessed the service are invited to share their thoughts, ideas and views.
The survey, which only takes 5 minutes to complete, helps the local authority ensure that the service is up to date and relevant for local carers and parents. The survey closes Monday 2 August 2021.
Councillor Ian Lindley, portfolio holder for children, education and young people at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “It is important that children and young people and their parents and carers get the right information, advice and guidance.
“SENDIASS is one of the ways that they can get information and support outside of Local Council services.
“This is a valuable opportunity for you to let us know what it is that you need, and helps ensure that we get the right service to suit the needs of our local people.
“This survey is open to children and young people as well as their parents and carers.”
