Celebrating the very best in small business across Northern Lincolnshire are the first ever ‘Great Big Small Awards’, launched this week.
In a return to real-life events, the spotlight will be shining on businesspeople and entrepreneurs in two glittering evenings in Grimsby and Scunthorpe this autumn.
Announced by E-Factor in partnership with The Business Hive, The Great Big Small Awards will showcase the innovation, tenacity and determined growth of Northern Lincolnshire small businesses.
E-Factor Managing Director Mark Webb said every day the team was inspired by people running small businesses and wanted a platform for their stories to be shared, and their success celebrated.
“Our local business community is at the heart of our economy, employing thousands of people and spending money our area,” said Mark.
“More people should see what amazing entrepreneurs and small businesses we have right here and that is why I am proud to announce the Great Big Small Awards.”
There are 12 categories to enter. They are aimed at sole traders and businesses with up to 25 employees that have been trading for over 12 months.
An expert judging panel of business leaders will select the winners and runners-up.
Shortlisted businesses will be invited to one of two evenings of celebration and entertainment, with food, awards presentations and dancing, on 8 October at Grimsby Town Hall and 15 October at Forest Pines Hotel, Scunthorpe. Additional tickets will be priced at £25 per person.
Main sponsor for the North East Lincolnshire event is multi-award-winning Fortis Therapy and Training. Managing Director Alexis Powell-Howard said she was thrilled and proud to support an event that applauds the ‘fantastic businesses we have in our area’.
“We are part of the business community and passionate about supporting small businesses, coaching many managing directors, and promoting wellbeing in organisations,” said Alexis.
“We know, first-hand, the trials, tribulations and amazing successes that can come from taking the risk to ‘go it alone’. These awards recognise the hard work, determination and innovation that is needed to run a business.”
All winners will be profiled across social media and online platforms and regional press will be invited to the event.
