Appeal for witnesses to dog attack in Barton
Officers are appealing for witnesses who helped a couple and their dog in Baysgarth Park, Barton-upon-Humber, on Saturday 24 July at 5:50pm.
It is reported that the couple were walking their pug and their baby in the park when a Staffordshire bull terrier ran over to them, knocking the woman and the baby to the floor.
The dog then attacked the pug, causing a cut to its eye. The male intervened, but was bitten on the hand by the dog.
The Staffordshire bull terrier is described as black with white on its chest.
Members of the public assisted the couple, and Humberside Police are asking for these people and any other witnesses to come forward and contact them on our non-emergency number 101, quoting 16/75354/21.
