Scunthorpe man charged with five counts of shop theft

Scunthorpe man has since been charged with five counts of shop theft

A prolific shoplifter, wanted for a number of shop thefts, was sighted on Frodingham Road Scunthorpe by Humberside Police patrol team on Monday afternoon.

After a failed attempt at cycling away and a chase through the surrounding streets, the male was caught and locked up.
A 31-year-old Scunthorpe man has since been charged with five counts of shop theft, with a further five also to be taken into consideration by the courts.
They were remanded in custody to appear before the next available court.

Whilst that was ongoing, officers also attended a disturbance taking place outside of a Public House on Burringham Road.

After a few too many at around 4pm, a male was locked up for making threats towards staff and the premises.

A 44-year-old man has since been charged with public order offences. They have been bailed to attend court later in August.
