Police appeal after 5-year-old boy dies from window fall
South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a five-year-old sadly died after falling from a multi-story hotel window.
Police responded to reports that a five-year-old boy fell from the window of the Sheffield Metropolitan Hotel at around 2.30pm in the Blonk Street area of Sheffield yesterday (18 August).
They took to social media to warn the public of an increased presence in the area and that the NPC car park would be closed while emergency services were at the scene.
They also told the public to avoid the area if possible.
The boy’s family are being supported by specially trained officers. No formal identification has taken place yet.
Enquiries are in the early stages to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
Members of the public took to social media to send their respects and prayers to the young boy’s family in this difficult time.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
