Kittens found dead in bin bags at Grimsby woods
Three dead kittens were found dumped in bin liners in a Grimsby woodland today, The Lincolnite reports.
Vets with the Blue Cross reportedly examined the kittens who were all malnourished and starting to decompose.
It is unclear when the crime was committed and when the kittens were abandoned.
It is possible that the young cats were poisoned or drowned.
This comes after the RSPCA and the Blue Cross have been working to tackle negligence cases brought on by the pandemic.
More people were buying pets during lockdowns, but once people began returning to work, there was no where for these animals to go.
It is unclear whether these circumstances have impacted this specific case.
Members of the RSPCA and the Blue Cross worked diligently to take care of the upsetting situation after the kittens were discovered.
RSPCA Inspector Claire Mitchell said: “These three cats were still so young and it is really upsetting to think about what they might have gone through.
“When the vets at the Blue Cross examined their tiny bodies, they found that all three were thin and starting to decompose, so it is unclear how long ago they died or how long they were in the woods for.
“None of the cats had any visible injuries so vets think they may have been poisoned or drowned.
“All three of them were found in flimsy white bin liners with yellow drawstrings and dumped in the woodland.”
Claire is appealing for information from the public about the deceased kittens that were found in the Grimsby woodland.
If anybody has any information about where the cats may have come from or how they came to be found dumped in the trash, it is advised that you contact the RSPCA immediately on 0300 123 8018.
