Doncaster charity to host ‘100 miles in October’ challenge
Doncaster Mind are raising money for mental health support next month by setting up a 100-mile challenge for the public to take part in.
The independent, local charity is encouraging people to walk, run, swim or cycle for the fundraiser.
By joining the challenge, you will be rewarded with a free t-shirt and can then set up your own fundraising page on Just Giving.
Any money achieved through your efforts will go towards supporting those with mental health issues in a bid to make their lives easier and happier to live in.
Going outside for this incredible journey benefits not only the nation, but your mental health too.
Doncaster Mind has worked hard for the past four decades to provide those in need (in Doncaster and the surrounding area) with mental health services.
This includes people struggling with stress, anxiety, depression or any other crises.
The small, local team of qualified professionals works with other mental health services, community groups and support services to gain suitable support for those with mental health problems.
They can provide one-to-one mentoring, counselling and befriending, THRIVE support (for people with complex needs), group support (guided learning), peer support and well-being groups.
They also aid students who need a placement in Social Care, Sociology, Counselling, Psychology, Art, Psychotherapy and more.
