Ashby One specialist hub opens to support people across North Lincolnshire

Ashby One, a support hub for adults with complex needs and learning disabilities, has opened as part of North Lincolnshire Council’s £5m community investment programme.

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader for North Lincolnshire Council, said: “It is great to see this latest development of the community investment scheme come to life – I am sure it will become a hive of activity for people from across the town.

“Our aspiration is that the hubs will be led by the needs of the individual communities. The spaces have been designed to be adaptable to enable local groups to develop and expand. This will ultimately improve people’s quality of life.”

Designed by a specialist team from Normanby Hall Country Park, people who attend Ashby One will be able to take advantage of the wider support available from the Community Hub and the outdoor area.

Community hubs also developed at Baysgarth in Barton-upon-Humber, Scunthorpe Central, Crowle’s beautiful Market Hall and the Angel in Brigg from the multi-million-pound community investment scheme.

This latest investment follows substantial Government backing to support North Lincolnshire to bounce back from Covid-19.

The council’s transformation plans for Scunthorpe received the green light in the Chancellor’s budget, with investment focused on creating a new future for the town centre and creating thousands of new, well-paid, sustainable jobs.
