Further works taking place on site of former Waves nightclub today
Works to extend the hoardings around the former Waves nightclub site on Sea Road in Cleethorpes will be taking place today (Thursday 30 September) and are set to take one day to complete.
The extension of the hoardings follows the ongoing work around the area, which has opened additional footpath space to create a larger site.
A spokesperson for North East Lincolnshire Council said: “The footpath will remain open and uninterrupted for the majority of the day, except for short periods of time whilst plant and materials are moved around the footpath.
“During periods of closure, signage will be erected directing pedestrians to the footway on the north side of Sea Road.
“Motorists will not be disrupted during the works.”
The entire project comes as part of the Cleethorpes Regeneration Programme and has been funded by £1 million from the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership’s Local Growth Fund.
The former Waves nightclub has now been demolished after the new multi-purpose building was announced at the end of 2019.
It’s set to include tourist information, beach safety, modern toilets, changing facilities and commercial spaces – and will reflect Cleethorpes’ Art Deco past.
