Driver left ‘shaken’ after brick thrown at HGV
The driver of a HGV has been left ‘shaken’ after a brick was thrown from a footbridge over the M181, hitting his vehicle.
The incident occured on the stretch of motorway near Scunthorpe last weekend at around 7-7:30pm on Sunday 19 Decmber.
Humberside Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward, including anyone with dash cam footage from anyone who may have been on the M181 near the Bottesford intersection around the time of the incident.
The brick is said to have been thrown from a footbridge over the M181 when it struck a passing HGV.
Thankfully the driver of the HGV managed to bring his vehicle to safe stop and was not injured, however he was left extremely shaken.
Damage was also caused to the vehicle’s windscreen, demonstrating just how dangerous the incident could have been.
Two people, a 16 year-old boy and a 29 year-old man, have since been arrested and questioned in relation to the incident.
Both have been bailed while officers continue with their enquiries.
