By Ørsted Great Grimsby 10k returns for 2022!
A date has been set for the next Ørsted Great Grimsby 10k, with organisers confirming that the race will return as planned next summer!
The much-loved event will be returning to the streets of Grimsby a little earlier than usual, starting on Sunday 5th of June.
Ørsted Great Grimsby 10k, which is now in its seventh year, will be scheduled to start at Grimsby Town Hall.
The event raises thousands of pounds for charity each year.
Entries will open to the public at 00:01 on New Year’s Day.
People can sign up via the official website. Entry costs £22, or £20 for affiliated running club members, and includes a t-shirt and medal.
Neil and Nicola Pattison, Tape2Tape directors, said: “Set your alarm as the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Day and get signed up to the race!
“We are so excited to welcome all our fantastic runners back for 2022 and would like to thank Ørsted for their continued support as our headline sponsor.
“The feeling in the town and the support we get is just amazing – it’s everyone that makes the race what it is. And next year will be even more special as the event falls on The Queens Platinum Jubilee weekend.”
2022 will see the return of the finish line event, with a variety of stalls and activities.
Many of these features have been cancelled in recent years due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Lauren Little, stakeholder advisor at Ørsted, said: “We have a very exciting 2022 ahead of us with the seventh Great Grimsby 10k supporting seven very deserving local charities.
“What makes the event so special for us is that anyone can get involved whether you are a beginner, experienced runner, a volunteer or just looking to cheer from the sidelines – everyone has an important role.”
This years event will support a number of local charities including OnSide Youth Zone, Harbour Place, A Platform To Talk, The Gardiner Hill Project (part of NAViGO), Mind, Doorstep and RNLI.
