North East Lincolnshire Covid infection rates slowly drop

In the week leading up to 17 December, North East Lincolnshire recorded 714 new Covid cases.

The weekly rate of new COVID-19 infections in North East Lincolnshire up to 14th December stands at 448 per 100,000 population, a considerable decrease from 592 the previous week.

The North East Lincolnshire case rate is the fourth highest of the fifteen local authorities in the Yorkshire and the Humber and is above the regional average of 399 but below the England average of 661/100,000.

There were 14 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Diana Princess of Wales Hospital on 20th December, with one person requiring critical care.

Of the 12+ NEL CCG population, 82.6%  have now received the first dose of the vaccine and 76.5% have also received the second dose. 53.9% of those aged 18+ have had both doses and the booster.

In the last reporting week, there were four additional deaths in North East Lincolnshire.
