Armed robber held bar staff at knifepoint
In the early hours of this morning (27 December) bar staff were held at knifepoint by an armed robber in a terrifying robbery.
The robbery happened between 12.15am and 12.20am today when a white man wearing dark clothing entered the White Swan Pub in Market Rasen.
Another man, also dressed in dark clothing, remained outside as a lookout while the robbery took place.
The man who entered the pub threatened a staff member while brandishing a knife and demanded money from the till.
The offender then took a quantity of cash, and both suspects were seen running away from the pub in a westerly direction towards Union Street.
The management of the bar has since posted an appeal to Facebook asking for help.
In a statement, they said: “We need your help, please. The White Swan in Rasen was subject to an armed robbery early this morning.
“If you know of anything or have any CCTV around that area please contact us.
“Fortunately there’s no physical harm to any of our team, but it’s a horrific thing to happen to anyone and mentally very disturbing. Let’s get these criminals behind bars please.”
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “We are also appealing for a man and a woman, who were seen walking along Queen Street, Market Rasen between 12.10am and 12.20am to get in touch.
“We would like to hear from the man and the woman and anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information that can assist in our inquiries.”
