Man charged with murder after beating woman to death

26-year-old Yahya Aboukar has been charged with murder after beating a woman, 29-year-old Kirsty Louise Ashley, to death mere days ago.

Kirsty, who was born in Grimsby, was found at 11:55am on Boxing Day in a house on Earlham Grove in Newham, east London.

Kirsty left behind a heartbroken family who all say they simply wished they could have spent more time with her prior to her passing.

Metropolitan Police launched a murder investigation instantly and Aboukar was promptly arrested and charged with beating Ms Ashley to death.

A post-mortem examination had revealed on Monday 27 December that Kirsty’s cause of death was blunt force trauma.

The incident caused a shock in the usually nice and peaceful neighbourhood.

Tributes have poured in, with prayers and kind messages being left for Kirsty and her family during this sad time.

Aboukar appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 28 December but is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday 31 December.
