Plans revealed for new McDonalds on local industrial site

Plans to build a new McDonalds on Fairfield Industrial Estate in Louth have been revealed in an application submitted to East Lindsey District Council.

The new restaurant would be situated next to the recently-opened KFC drive-thru on the same site.

If approved the proposal is expected to create more than 65 new jobs.

This is now the second application McDonalds have submitted to build a drive-thru restaurant on the industrial estate, after the first was refused in favour of KFC and Starbucks stores.

The application reads: “McDonald’s are looking forward to opening a store in this area, as the previous scheme did not progress. This site provides an excellent opportunity to move to the area.

“The proposal represents sustainable development of a prominent vacant site, which will provide a range of local jobs to the area.”

McDonalds have stated that the restaurant will facilitate up to 97 visitors, and would include a 38-space car park with two accessible bays and six cycle spaces.
