Humberside officer faces misconduct hearing over ‘unwanted touching’

A former police officer who allegedly subjected two female colleagues to “unwanted touching” is facing a misconduct hearing.

It is alleged that the former officer breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in the first instance when he was visiting a colleague at their home.

On Monday 16 March 2020, PC Christopher Lings reportedly made derogatory and sexual remarks towards his fellow officer.

He also allegedly touched her without permission by putting his hands on the top of her leg and her crotch area.

Reports then suggest that PC Lings pushed her onto the bed and laid on top of her.

On a separate occasion, on Friday 20 December 2019, he subjected a different officer to his unwanted touches.

He also pushed her onto the bed and laid on top of her.

This occurred during his patrol’s Christmas party in a Lincoln hotel room.

PC Lings is set to face a misconduct hearing on Tuesday 18 January 2022 at 10:00 am.

He will appear at the Old Magistrates Court in Goole.
