Pettits Lincolnshire Sausages are making their first appearance on Blundell Park’s menu today, Saturday 22 January, as Grimsby Town F.C. celebrates Great Grimsby Day with a thrilling match!
After the Bethlehem Street butchers collapsed, Andrew Pettit, part of the butcher family’s fourth generation, has been working hard to revive their famous sausages.
They finally made a comeback late last year at Docks Beers with a revamped recipe that has been highly praised.
Alongside Jason Stockwood, Andrew has also taken over as vice-chairman for Grimsby Town Football Club.
Just yesterday, the pair hosted a Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce dinner at Blundell Park.
Now, as part of today’s celebrations, the Pettits’ famous sausage buns will be available at the Docks Beers container in the Mariners Trust fan zone during Grimsby Town’s fixture with Bromley.
Andrew Pettit explains: “The launch of Pettits sausages at Docks Beers has been a resounding success, and we are delighted that the town has responded to their return so enthusiastically.
“Ever since getting involved with Grimsby Town FC it’s been our ambition to have the sausages available as part of the matchday experience.
“We will be giving it a streetfood twist and Pettits sausage buns will be available to fans from the Docks Beers container in the Mariners Trust fanzone.
“Great Grimsby Day seemed to be a fitting day for them to make their first appearance!”
The famous sausages were reportedly a huge success all the way back in 1998 and fans are delighted at their return!
The sausages will be on sale from the Docks Beers container bar at the Mariners Trust fanzone from midday on Saturday 22nd January.
They can also be bought from the Docks Beers taproom and website.
