Well-known tapas bar receives shockingly low hygiene rating
A well-known tapas bar and restuarant in Scartho has received a shockingly low hygiene rating fom the Food Standards Agency.
Lids, based on Louth Road, received an overall score of zero, with inspectors stating that “urgent improvement is necessary”.
Establishments are ranked on a score of zero to five, with five meaning the restaurant is perfect.
Businesses are ranked in three key areas, hygieneic food handling, cleanliness and conditions of facility and building, management of food safety.
Lids recieved “urgent improvement necessary” in all three categories.
Commenting on the rating, many locals were quick to give their own judgement on the restuarant and bar.
One wrote: “Shut it down it’s an eyesore with bins and beer barrels on the front. How did it ever get planning there is no customer parking only using public roads around start a petition to close.”
Another shared: “It’s a joke when I go there for a meal and drinks and spend a lot of money with them. Shame as the food and drinks are lovely.”
One resident called the restuarant a “filthy dump” and wondered at how locals could continue to eat their knowing it’s horrificly low rating.
Another Scartho business based on Louth Road, Thomas Greens, recently closed due to ongoing concerns surrounding food hygiene and regulations.
They received a one star rating in June last year before they partially removed their kitchen due to the inspection.
