Man in court over fatal A16 collision

A man is due in court today following a collision on the A16 which sadly resulted in the death of a 76-year-old woman.

Billy Kinsella, 37, of Hook road, Goole, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The suspect failed to provide a roadside breath test and suffered minor injuries.

He is due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court today.

The incident occurred between the Algarkirk and Kirton roundabouts at around 9:47pm and involved a white BMW 420 and a silver Toyota Yaris.

A second woman, the 72-year-old driver of the Toyota Yaris, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The A16 was closed for several hours overnight while police completed their investigation work.
