M180 Service Station

Locals in favour of new M180 service station

Despite some objection, many locals have come out in favour of the proposed plans for a new service station on the M180.

Developers have proposed a number of major developments along a busy intersection near to the M180, A180, A15 and A18.

The improved transport hub, which will house 8 charging points for vehicles, should provide faster links to the surrounding area.

The site will also provide a 200 space lorry park, retail spaces and drive thru fast food restaurants.

The development would provide a number of new jobs for the local area and would support business and transport links to Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

Although some locals have taken issue with the development, many have given their support.

One local wrote: “Truckers need rest and decent parking for overnight. It’s a great location & will bring new jobs to the area. Good access to the main routes. Remember without Trucks you get nothing.”

Another stated: “Great, it’s well needed, can not see why it will affect that village”

Others praised the increased capacity for parking, writing: “Barneys has long since struggled with the sheer amount wanting to park there. I honestly think this is a good thing.”

Another added: “Good, truck drivers need more safe parking.”

The service station could provide a much needed boost for the local area and economy, but residents are worried that noise pollution and increased traffic could threaten local villages.

Authorities say they have no current objections or concerns regarding the impact of the works on the surrounding area and villages.
