200 additional homes planned for Toll Bar site
Developers have submitted plans to construct 200 new houses on a site next to Wigmore Park, near Toll Bar roundabout.
According to the planning application, the houses will have access from Louth road travelling from New Waltham.
The development will comprise of 19 two-bedroom, 83 three-bedroom and 77 four-bedroom properties.
There are also plans for an additional 45 ‘affordable’ 1-3 bedroom homes.
According to the planning application, “the site is located at the south-west corner of the village of New Waltham, a former railway suburb, south of Grimsby.
“Housing faces half of the eastern boundary across the A16 and Tollbar Business and Enterprise Academy buildings face the site across the B1219 to the north”.
The Wigmore Park project is already under construction with a number of properties expected to become available this year.
But so far the plans have been met with opposition from residents in the area.
Many have expressed concerns regarding how local schools will cope with the increased number of pupils in attendance.
Locals are invited to submit comments on the development via North East Lincolnshire Council’s planning website.
