Straight from the horse’s mouth! Grimsby Town horse to compete today

Some exciting news from the race track this morning, race horse Grimsby Town is set to race for the first time this afternoon!

Placing bets on the race this morning some locals were both confused and excited to find that Grimsby Town, a 3-year-old Bay Gelding race horse from Ireland, would be entering the race.

Who knew the mariners were so popular?

Set to enter the track for his racing debut, he will be competing against the likes of The Churchill Lad, Zeydar and  Beauty Amazed.

He is listed as an “interesting newcomer” on the Racing Post website, making his career one to keep an eye on.

Ths afternnon at 3 pm, Grimsby Town will enter his very first race at the Dudalk track in Ireland.

He will race again on February 4 on the same track.

Jockey M P Sheehy will be taking the reigns, with trainer J P O’Brien and owner Mrs Paul Shanhan cheering on from the sidelines.

At the time of writing, Grimsby Town’s odds stand at 7/2 on the Sky Sports website so get your bets in now while you have the chance!
