Policeman recalls double-murderer Daniel Boulton’s arrest
Earlier this week Daniel Boulton appeared at Lincoln Crown Court for sentencing following the double murder of his ex-girlfriend and her nine-year-old son.
On the 31st of May 2021 Boulton walked from Skegness to the property in High Holme Road, Louth, where 26-year-old Bethany Vincent was living with son Darren Henson.
Both died after sustaining multiple stab wounds.
Boulton was found guilty of two counts of murder after just two hours of jury deliberation.
Now, the police officer stabbed by a fugitive double murderer during his arrest has recalled the incident, branding the killer the “most dangerous offender” he’s faced.
PC Stephen Denniss of Lincolnshire Police was off duty and walking his dogs through the Hubbards Hill area in Louth on 1 June 2021 when he spotted Daniel Boulton, who was the subject of a major manhunt at the time.
Boulton had gone on the run following the tragic murder.
PC Denniss pursued him but was stabbed in the leg by the suspect.
Boulton then fled resulting in a struggle between the two men.
PC Denniss said: “I didn’t consider that I was putting my life at risk; I just saw one of the most dangerous offenders I have come across in my almost 20 years of policing and knew I had to do something.
“I really want to praise the firearms team and other officers who arrived within minutes, they were the ones who continued the foot chase and arrested Boulton a short time later at a near-by farm. It was all a massive team effort.
“This is a devastating incident in which a family have very sadly lost their loved ones, but I am pleased that I could help bring some justice to them.”
Daniel Boulton was sentenced to 40 years for each murder on the 2nd of February. Both sentences will run concurrently.
