Urgent appeal as popular business man brutally attacked
A much loved and respected local business man has been brutally attacked, resulting in a serious injuries.
According to reports, Harvey Shaw, who is the Store Manager at Grimsby Carpet Warehouse (GCW) was attacked at around 12:30am on Saturday the 5th of February while celebrating his birthday at the Brackenborough Hotel.
The suspect is said to have punched Harvey, resulting in a fall and a blow to the head.
He is now in hospital having suffered a bleed on the brain.
Those responsible are said to have fled the scene shortly after the altercation occurred.
GCW are appealing to anyone who might have information.
A statement issued by Grimsby Carpet Warehouse reads:
“At around 12:30am on Saturday 5th Feb – Our Store Manager Harvey Shaw was sucker punched by someone at the Brackenborough Hotel whilst celebrating his 32nd birthday.
“He hit his head off the bar, dropped to the floor unconscious and he is now in hospital with a bleed on the brain.
“We believe the group of people involved are from the Grimsby/Waltham area. If you have any information at all, please contact the Lincolnshire police station and quote 9-5/2/22
“This group of people allegedly checked out the hotel during the middle of the night and disappeared.
“Harvey is a lovely kind boy and his 2 little girls want to know why their Daddy is in hospital.
“Note: The Brackenborough Hotel have been fantastic and are helping the police with their enquires.
“Thanks in advance for your help & support.”
Lincolnshire Police have been contacted for a statement. Anyone with information is urged to contact them by calling 101 and quoting incident number 9-5/2/22.
