Results revealed for Round 17 of the Scunthorpe Tuesday Pool League

Round 17 of the Scunthorpe Tuesday Pool League saw league titles secured and others, all but one, barring any improbable occurrences on final day.

Showmans Army are likely to be celebrating in two weeks’ time as they have an unassailable lead at the top of Division 1 following a 10-2 victory against strugglers Back In Black Beauty.

Beacon pulled off the result of the round by beating second-placed Fu Cue 7-5.

The Division 2 title race is far from settled and will be decided on the Scunthorpe Pool League’s final day.

Redbourne Mods maintained their lead at the top of the division following their 8-4 win over relegation-threatened Showmans Improvers, whilst Brumby Hall have put themselves in a brilliant position to possibly pinch top spot on final day as they beat Ashby Crown 10-2.

The relegation battle will also go to final day as Mulligans Tight Rack keep out of the drop zone, but only just as they beat Glennys Poachers 8-4.

Mulligans Majestic Sausage Dogs are just four frames away from securing the Division 3 title as they came from behind to beat Beacon Rat Outcasts 7-5 in the deciding frame.

Meanwhile, Winterton Jubilee will all but secure a promotion place for this season’s Scunthorpe Pool League.

This week, they won their eighth of the campaign 8-4 against bottom-side Chancel.

Mulligans ST cling onto top spot by the skin of their teeth.

However, it is looking increasingly likely that second-placed Fedoras Z will grab top spot in the Scunthorpe Pool League, especially following their decisive 8-4 win this week against ST’s.

Mulligans Madness have all but secured safety in Division 4 as they comprehensively secured victory against bottom-side Talbot for this week’s Scunthorpe Pool League.

The Division 5 title race will likely conclude with Old Farmhouse winning their second successive league title, but it will not be without a late scare as they lost their unbeaten home record against Jolly Sailor 8-5.

Both Schnapps and Mulligans Youth go into final day level on points in second as both registered rare defeats this week, 7-5 versus Butchers of Winterton and 8-4 versus Mill Road B respectively.

Mulligans Young Ones became the first team for this season’s Pool League to mathematically secure a league title as they registered a 6-6 away draw at Grosvenor A.

Mill Road DM will very likely be following YO’s in a higher division next season as they came away from Frod Road Club with a 9-4 victory.

Showmans Hornets require a single frame on Round 18 to secure the Division 7 title on their debut season.

This week, the Hornets virtually made certain of their status as league champions by beating second-placed Foxhills 10-2.

Both Mulligans Unique and Scunthorpe Bowl secured convincing 9-3 wins this week against Schnapps Retro and Beckwood Sex Panthers respectively.

The overall results for this week’s Scunthorpe Tuesday Pool League are exciting and many are waiting in anticipation to see what is in store for final day.
