Man ‘assaulted with weapon’ on Hainton Avenue

Humberside Police are investigating an assault which saw a man attacked with a weapon on Saturday 12th February.

It is reported that between 11:15pm and 11:30pm a man walking alone along Hainton Avenue in Grimsby was approached by an unknown man and assaulted with a weapon.

Officers are now appealing to the public for information. 

The male suspect is said to have fled the scene, and is thought to have travelled in the direction of Pasture Street.

After the attack, the victim was taken to hospital and received treatment for a facial injury. 

Thankfully, the injury is not thought to be serious. 

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released pending further investigation. 

Humberside Police are now appealing for any information that may lead to an arrest. 

A spokesperson for the force has said they are urging “anybody with any information who may have seen anything suspicious in the area” to contact Humberside Police by calling the non-emergency number 101.
