Sadness as Grimsby man found dead

Police have issued an update amid the search for a Grimsby man who was reported missing yesterday evening.

Tony, 80, went missing from the Marshchapel near Grimsby at around 9.30am Tuesday morning.

Lincolnshire Police issued an appeal, stating that they were concerned for his welfare, and were seeking help from the public to locate him.

Tony’s car, a white Fiat Qubo, was also reported as missing.

The initial police appeal read: “He may be in the local area, including rural coastal locations, and is missing along with his car, which is a white Fiat Qubo, registration FY12 OPJ.

“He is white with short cropped white hair, a slim build, 6ft 2 inches tall and may be wearing a yellow jacket.

“If you see Tony or his vehicle, please contact us on 101 quoting incident 376 of today. Always call 999 in an emergency.”

In the latest update, Lincolnshire Police have sadly confirmed that Tony has been found deceased.

A spokesperson added: “We are preparing a file for the coroner and providing support to his family.”
