Toys ‘R’ Us to return to UK high streets ‘within months’

Popular high street retailer Toys ‘R’ Us is set to return to the nations high streets almost four years after it shut.

Stores across the UK are expected to reopen within months.

Toys ‘R’ Us first opened in 1985 and sadly closed after going bust in 2018. Its closure was largely attributed to a struggle to keep up with similar online retailers.

As such, all of its UK and US stores were forced to shut.

But much to the delight of generations of children, the store has now announced plans to make a revival!

Chief Executive Louis Mittoni, who is leading the UK relaunch, said: “I’m very excited to welcome over 100 years of retailing experience in our new team, who will lead the relaunch our iconic brand back into the UK market in the next few months.

“We have an amazing toy and baby buying team, which I believe is the best in the country.

“With this team now in place, we’re hitting the ground running and have been reaching out to the supply base to see with whom we can align on this amazing journey.”

According to reports, a recruitment drive is already underway.
