Touching vigil for Ukraine held in Cleethorpes
A touching vigil was held at the Remembrance Gate on High Cliff Road in Cleethorpes last night, Sunday 27 February.
Locals came together to support for Ukraine in a beautiful show of solidarity as people are forced to flee amid the ongoing Russian invasion.
The event was organised by Emma Louise Kosakowska, whose husband’s family live close to the Ukraine border.
She said she was moved to organise the vigil after being “deeply affected by the scenes from Ukraine.”
Speaking at the event, she prayed for peace for the people of Ukraine.
Emma said: “We pray for those with power over war or peace , for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
“Above all, we pray for all of your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you will hold and protect them.”
Emma is now organising a fundraiser for women and children caught up in the crisis.
Updates to follow.
