Serious road traffic collision causing major delays
Emergency services are currently attending a serious road traffic collision on Doncaster Road, Scunthorpe.
According to reports, a car on the roundabout on Scotter Road and Doncaster Road (Aka Berkeley Circle) has landed on its roof.
The driver allegedly had a medical condition that caused the accident, although it has not been confirmed it has been suggested that a Diabetic episode caused the crash.
One witness stated that four fire engines, an ambulance, a medicopter, and numerous police cars were at the scene.
Traffic is reportedly mounting as the roundabout is a major traffic artery.
The victim has been taken out by ambulance and fire brigade staff, while the police remain very busy redirecting the traffic.
As of 12.30 pm, the roundabout is still unavailable to pass.
Both Doncaster Road and Kingsway are closed in both directions.
Humberside Police shared the accident to their Facebook stating: “Emergency services are in attendance at a serious road traffic collision on Berkeley Roundabout in Scunthorpe. Both Doncaster Road and Kingsway are currently closed in both directions. Please avoid the area if possible.”
