Seven major projects set to transform the heart of Grimsby

Hey Credit Union launches in North East Lincolnshire

The not-for-profit community bank Hey Credit Union has now launched in North East Lincolnshire.

With four new branches opening, the bank provides a range of safe savings accounts and affordable, responsible credit options.

The Credit Union’s most popular products include a Christmas Saver account that helps people to plan for the festive spending season, with savings locked safely out of temptation’s way until 1st November.

The Family Benefit Plan allows those in receipt of Child Benefit to combine saving with low-cost credit to smooth out the ‘lumpy costs’ of raising a family.

Loans for a wide range of purposes can be applied for from £100 up to £20,000 according to affordability, with flexible repayment terms.

Sharing the exciting news the company wrote: “With many big banks closing branches, it is even more important for credit unions to provide a friendly and personal service at the heart of the community.

“Our local branch is now located and will be permanently based at Grimsby central library. Our local team will be assisting members face to face in-branch and helping them to set up saving accounts and to apply for loans.

“The staff are excited about building a long term relationship with the people of North East Lincolnshire, helping them to be good with money.”

Grimsby’s new local branch will be located at Grimsby Central Library, operating from 10 am till 2 pm Tuesday to Thursday.

Outreach centres also include Freeman Street Market, Centre4 and West Marsh Community Centre.

Centre4 will operate on Tuesdays from 10 am til 12:30 am, West Marsh Community Centre will operate Wednesdays from 11 am till 2 pm and Freeman Street Market will operate Friday’s 10 am till 2 pm.
