Man left with ‘life-threatening’ injuries after a bar fight at Forest Pines
An attack at the Forest Pines Hotel on the outskirts of Scunthorpe has left a man with life-threatening injuries.
In the early hours of Sunday morning (13 March), a fight broke out at the hotel bar before heading towards a hotel room.
Witnesses reportedly heard screaming and swearing coming from the room as the fight escalated, with some stating they could see blood on the bar floor.
Multiple police cars and vans attended the scene before forensic teams also arrived later in the day.
According to Humberside Police, the victim sustained life-threatening injuries but is in a stable condition in hospital.
Two people have since been arrested in connection with the assault.
One man, aged 32, was arrested on suspicion of committing serious assault against the unknown 46-year-old male victim.
A 32-year-old woman was also arrested in connection with the incident. Both the man and the woman are in custody.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “A man, aged 32, has been arrested on suspicion of committing a serious assault on a man, aged 46 at a hotel in Scunthorpe in the early hours of 13 March 2022.
“The victim, who was visiting the area from Gateshead, is in a life-threatening but stable condition in hospital. His family is being supported by specially trained officers and medical staff.
“A woman, aged 32, has also been arrested in connection to the incident. Both remain in custody while the investigation continues.
“Anyone with information about the incident, that has not already spoken to officers, is asked to call our non-emergency 101 line quoting log 72 of 13 March.
“Alternatively, you can report information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”
