Two-vehicle collision closes A16

A section of the A16 is currently closed following a collision involving two vehicles.

According to the AA, the incident is thought to have happened at around 10:30 this morning, Tuesday the 5th of April.

The road is currently closed both ways at the junction of Holton-le-Clay, between Louth Road and Station Road.

A number of delays and diversions are in place as a result.

The road is set to be closed for at least the next hour, with motorists advised to avoid the area until further notice.

Injuries have been reported but are not believed to be serious.

In a statement issued this morning, Lincolnshire Police wrote:

“The A16 at Holten le Clay has been closed following a two vehicle collision.

“Injuries are reported but not believed to be serious.

“Please avoid the area and where possible take an alternative route.

“We anticipate the road will be closed for the next hour or so.”

Humberside Police and Lincolnshire Police have both been contacted for further comment – updates to follow.
