Update issued after multi-vehicle response on Cleethorpes beach

Yesterday evening (Sunday 10 April) locals were left worried after emergency services descended on Cleethorpes Beach promenade.

At roughly 6 pm, reports started coming in of an ambulance, police van, and an air ambulance all arriving at the scene near Cleethorpes Leisure Centre.

According to reports, a member of the public was treated at the scene before the air ambulnace took off at roughly 7 pm.

A police cordon was also put in place.

Eye witnesses at the beach said members of the public rushed over to help until emergency services arrived.

Many shared their hopes that the man is question was okay, praising those who attended the scene.

One witness stated a pair of 14-year-old boys alerted emergency services and stayed with the man until they arrived.

Humberside Police have now said they attended reports of concern for a man’s safety on the promenade.

Although the nature of the incident is unknown, the man in question was taken to hospital for treatment.

Humberside Police said: “Officers attended reports of a concern for a man’s safety on Queen’s Parade, Cleethorpes, at around 6:00 pm last night (Sunday 10 April).

“The man was taken to hospital for treatment.”
