By Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak fined over Downing Street parties
It has now been confirmed that Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak will be fined over Downing Street parties during covid lockdowns.
The Met Police revealed earlier today that 50 fines have been issued so far over parties at Downing Street and Whitehall during national lockdowns.
Police are investigating 12 events in total over alleged parties.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has called for the two officials to resign, stating the Conservative party is “totally unfit to govern”.
He added: “Britain deserves better.
“Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak have broken the law and repeatedly lied to the British public. They must both resign.”
Downing Street said it has not been stated which events the fines are linked to.
