‘Edible Grimsby’ festival set for later this year
A new festival taking place later this year will see tasty dishes bring the community even closer together.
‘Edible Grimsby’ will be held on Saturday 1st October 2022, an event co-created with the community.
The social media page for the festival has been posted announcing the festival that will be held.
On social media, the group shared about their recent community event: “How can art and food bring people together? What does a community celebration look like in North East Lincolnshire? How can it reflect what the community here is about?
“Thank you again for those who came to the #ediblegrimsby open session! Lots of interesting conversations and new connections with #nelincs creatives and the wider community.”
Edible Grimsby is an event co-created with the community and part of North East Lincolnshire Council Grimsby Creates programme and produced by Emergency Exit Arts.
“The festival will take place on Saturday 1st October 2022 but we will have tons to share before that as we grow, cook and celebrate with community partners starting this spring – stay tuned for more!”
Edible Grimsby aims to “empower the community to take action in their local area” and to become better connected.
Sharing their aim they said: “The project will promote tasty dishes which are affordable and healthy for people and the planet.
“Starting in the spring, the ingredients will be grown in the community, cooked at home or in community kitchens, and shared with one another in a mass celebratory event later in the year.”
