Grimsby boy gathers Easter eggs for Charity
A Grimsby boy has undertaken the fantastic and generous task of collecting Easter eggs for those less fortunate after being inspired by another local charity fundraiser.
Cohen was looking to do something for charity and stumbled upon George Kavanagh’s social media post, in unison with St Andrew’s Hospice Grimsby.
He said: “I did an Easter egg collection, but originally I was just looking to do something for charity and I saw something on Georges’s Facebook page through St Andrews and I thought to do an Easter egg collection.
“I know some of the kids aren’t necessarily going to get much this year.
“I went to my school and asked if they’d help me with it so I did a post with them and at home- I put it on Facebook with family and friends but got more than I expected- 125 I believe – I thought 50 at the most”
George responded by saying “It’s just such an amazing thing you’ve done Cohen
“Charity starts at home. When you do stuff like this you pick up the skills from it as well”.
Cohen has been the Foresight ambassador of the year and has cited his overall boost in confidence following charity work.
Cohen added: “It feels good I know I’m not just doing it for myself I’m doing it for people who might not be able to themselves”
“It goes to show anybody can do it you just need that initiative to realise you can do it then there’s nothing stopping you.”
Fantastic work guys – keep it up!
