Vandals target Cleethorpes Paddling Pool
Cleethorpes Paddling Pool, owned by Harrison’s Ices, has sadly fallen victim to vandals ahead of reopening this summer.
Staff have been working hard to prepare to open and say they are disappointed that their hard work is being undone before anybody has been given a chance to enjoy the facilities.
In a recent Facebook post, a spokesperson for Harrisons Ices wrote: “We haven’t even opened yet & I’m having phone calls to tell me there’s people broken in and pulling things out of the buildings.
“Any images would be great, cctv is being installed next week.
“Anyone jumping over the fence and being caught on our cctv will be published on our pages in a hope to deter them doing it again.”
Hundreds of locals have responded with disappointment and frustration.
One wrote: “This is such a shame – we were really looking forward to bringing our toddler here for her first visit.”
“How sad. After all of the hard work you have done! There is always one person who has to spoil it for everyone else. I hope you get CCTV sorted soon and find out who is responsible,” added another.
Staff have been carrying out a number of cosmetic and mechanical upgrades over the recent weeks.
The pool is expected to reopen on the 23rd of April.
Anyone with information regarding the damage is advised to contact Harrisons Ices or Humberside Police via the non-emergency number 101.
