Cleethorpes Paddling Pool sets opening date after vandalism

Cleethorpes Paddling Pool has announced their opening date after vandals attack the site over the bank holiday weekend.

Staff have been working hard to prepare to open and say they are disappointed that their hard work is being undone before anybody has been given a chance to enjoy the facilities.

Hundreds of locals have responded with disappointment and frustration.

One wrote: “This is such a shame – we were really looking forward to bringing our toddler here for her first visit.”

“How sad. After all of the hard work you have done! There is always one person who has to spoil it for everyone else. I hope you get CCTV sorted soon and find out who is responsible,” added another.

Staff have been carrying out a number of cosmetic and mechanical upgrades over the recent weeks.

CCTV cameras and anti-vandalism paint have been installed to protect the pool from future attacks.

Harrisons Ices told Gi Media that a test run wil be held later this week to make sure the pool is in working order and ready for opening.

Should the test run be successful, the paddling pool will be open to the public on April 30 ready for the May bank holiday weekend.
